For nearly a year now, Sarah has been a beacon of support and empowerment for a group of resilient women resettling in our area from Afghanistan. Her work, grounded in compassion and creativity, is helping these women navigate the often-overwhelming transition into a new culture, language, and way of life.
Through a specially designed course titled Living and Working in the UK.
Sarah has been guiding the women through the essential skills they need to feel confident and connected in their new home. The course covers a broad range of practical topics—from everyday communication and using public transport, to researching local clubs and activities, and developing basic digital skills to support daily living.
But it’s not just about logistics. At the heart of Sarah’s approach is a deep understanding that integration is about feeling seen, valued, and empowered. She uses creative techniques to help the women explore their personal goals and interests, creating space for each individual to rediscover a sense of identity and purpose beyond the challenges of resettlement.
Whether it’s mapping out a walk to the nearest market, finding a local sewing group, or learning to send an email, Sarah’s work has made a tangible difference in the lives of these women. Her passion and patience have helped to build a sense of community and confidence
